The head of the Pathological Institute at Heidelberg University demands that many more people who died after a corona vaccination have to be autopsied in order to understand the effects of the vaccination. He also assumes a high number of unreported vaccine deaths.

According to the chief pathologist at Heidelberg University, Peter Schirmacher, significantly more autopsies should take place in the event of deaths after corona vaccinations. Like the director of the Pathological Institute in Heidelberg dpa explained, in addition to the corpses of suspected corona deaths, the people who died in connection with the corona vaccination would also have to be examined.

For more than a year, suspected corona deaths have been autopsied at the university clinics in southwest Germany in order to better understand the disease. This is supported by the state with 1.8 million euros. Now the doctor wants to examine the serious side effects of corona vaccinations such as cerebral vein thrombosis or autoimmune diseases in more detail. From his point of view, it is a problem that vaccinated people usually do not die under clinical observation:

“The doctor examining the corpse does not establish a context with the vaccination and certifies a natural death and the patient is buried. Or he certifies an unclear manner of death, and the public prosecutor sees no third-party fault and releases the corpse for burial.”

As Schirmacher explained, pathologists therefore work in Baden-Württemberg with the public prosecutor’s offices, the police and resident doctors. So far, more than 40 people have been autopsied who died within two weeks of being given the vaccine. It can be assumed that 30 to 40 percent died from the vaccination.

Other doctors criticize Schirmacher’s statements, however: As the Paul Ehrlich Institute announced, the statements that the dangers of vaccination are underestimated and that too little is currently known about side effects are incomprehensible. In addition, there is an obligation to report severe side effects. Thomas Mertens, head of the Standing Vaccination Commission, also announced that he was not assuming an unreported number. There are no data that allow a justifiable statement to be made here.

However, Schirmacher insists on his opinion:

“My colleagues are definitely wrong because they cannot assess this specific question competently.”

The vaccination is an important part of the fight against Corona, but you have to weigh up the medical reasons for a vaccination individually. He is not a vaccine opponent and does not want to spread panic. According to his own information, he has already had himself vaccinated against COVID-19. It is problematic, however, that one relies on a quick vaccination of the population instead of “individual protection considerations”.

The Federal Association of German Pathologists is also calling for more autopsies to be performed on those who have been vaccinated in order to be able to confirm or rule out links between deaths and vaccinations. However, according to Johannes Friemann, head of the autopsy working group in the association, it is still too early to speak of an unreported number, since too few autopsies are being done. General practitioners and health authorities should be made aware of this.

In March, the Federal Association of Pathologists wrote to Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) demanding that the federal states request the health authorities to order autopsies on site. The letter has remained unanswered to this day.
